Back on stage again

Jon unexpectedly got a call from La Jolla playhouse last week asking him to join the cast of their new show, Memphis, as an understudy.  A cast member had informed them that he may need to leave temporarily due to an ailing relative.
So, Tuesday he gets the call.  They want to know if he can understudy the part ASAP.  Tuesday night we headed out to watch the show.  He started rehearsal on Thursday and Saturday night he was on stage after  only 3 days of rehearsal!  That's right 3 days to learn an entire show! What an amazing guy!   No one in the audience would have suspected he had had any less rehearsal than the rest of the company.  I know because I had the privilege of watching the show that night and he was amazing.  It was great to watch him on stage again.  I was so proud. He was on for 4 shows and will continue to understudy through the end of the run.
By the way, the show is great and full of amazing talent!  It has been selling out and only runs through the 28th of September, so check out Memphis if you get the chance.
And for our East coast friends, watch for it, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up on Broadway!
